Salesforce delivers a suite of new features that optimize data accessibility across its CRM applications and other business systems organizations regularly use in its latest Data Cloud platform release. The updates to the company’s hyperscale data platform enable users to create highly tailored customer experiences that integrate data from the platform with Salesforce’s Einstein AI platform to drive predictive insights that accelerate business outcomes.

Streamlining data usability from multiple sources

Built on the company’s foundational metadata layer, Data Cloud streamlines the integration of data from diverse sources and data lakes into various Salesforce applications and its low-code platform services.

This integration fosters a common language that supports streamlined workflows and enhanced collaboration while integrating tools like Salesforce’s Flow for automation, Lightning for UI, and Apex for customization.

New features like Related Lists and Triggered Flows enable customer engagement data from website traffic to be added to a customer record with an automated alert sent to a salesperson to follow up on the activity.

Eliminating silos and overcoming data fragmentation challenges

Many businesses today grapple with the impact of data fragmentation and silos that hinder critical tasks. According to a recent study, a staggering  81% of IT business leaders encounter challenges related to data silos.

Salesforce’s Data Cloud helps unify customer data across the enterprise and empowers organizations to leverage the data for AI-powered insights that help create personalized customer experiences.

David Schmaier, President and Chief Product Officer at Salesforce, highlighted the significance of the update, emphasizing its role in unifying enterprise data and powering AI applications.  “Salesforce Data Cloud is the first data platform that not only unifies data from across the enterprise but also uses this harmonized data to power the AI and applications that businesses use every day.”

New features that make data more actionable

The Data Cloud Spring ‘24 release introduces a suite of key features that streamline data usage and insights:

  • Data Spaces: Lets customers segregate data, metadata, and processes for different organizational needs, including regulatory compliance.
  • Model Builder: Facilitates the creation of predictive AI models using Data Cloud data, with no-code, low-code, and pro-code options.
  • Data Cloud Related Lists: Allows integration of Data Cloud data across the Einstein Platform, enriching CRM records with real-time engagement data.
  • Data Cloud Copy Fields: Lets customers transfer insights from Data Cloud directly into their core CRM, eliminating the need for complex integrations.
  • Data Cloud for Industries Enhancements: Provides industry-specific solutions, including enhancements tailored for financial services users.
  • Data Graphs Enhancements: Streamline relationship definition between data points, and simplifies access to essential customer data.
  • Service Intelligence: Provides service teams with AI-powered insights to enhance service quality.
  • Data Cloud Triggered Flows Enhancements: Allows users to automate business processes based on changes in data points or calculated insight conditions.

Providing opportunities for customers and partners

The new enhancements offer a gateway to expanded opportunities for Managed Service Providers (MSPs) and resellers. With the platform’s ability to build richer, more personalized customer experiences, MSPs and resellers can position themselves as partners in their customers’ digital transformation journey and deliver solutions that drive tangible business outcomes.
